Roofing my shed!

The hardest part of any job is getting started
This particular job was re-felting the shed roof.  It's been leaking for a while.  We looked at the cost of replacing the shed, which is not in the best shape, but it was a bit on the pricey side.

Re-felting the felt was much cheaper!

I admit, it's not the neatest job in the world, or the best.  It only needs to keep the water out for another couple of years, and it's definitely much better than it was before.

I've been putting the job off for... hmmm... too long.  So, up on the roof, worrying just a little bit about the slightly rotten roof.  I'm quite proud of it actually, just getting the job done.

  1. Looks great so far! Keep it up, don't forget ventilation sections though!!

  2. You’re right that you should first check the roof if it can still be repaired rather than reroofing the whole thing. And from the looks of things, you did a great job for an amateur! It is certainly a thing to be proud of now that your shed is leak-free! How’s the roof? I bet it will last for a long time after reading about the efforts you put into it.

    1. Aww, thanks! It's looking pretty ship-shape at the moment - no more leaks, even though it's covered in snow!

  3. It’s a good decision to check if it can be replaced or repaired. That way, you can find out what’s best for the shed, and at the same time, your pocket. And from the looks of it, you certainly made a good decision. It definitely looks sturdier and much more capable of withstanding leaks!

  4. Roof replacement sounds costly, but it's always a good investment. I hope you made the right decision, which is to just re-felt the shed roof. It looks good and sturdy enough to withstand rain, so I guess it's safe to say that you did a great job!
